We are excited to introduce OMGC’s first STEAM Showcase, celebrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics!

Students will investigate questions, test ideas, and design solutions while developing creativity, problem-solving skills, and confidence. Completed projects will be displayed in the school hall for Open House and Catholic Schools Week, where families and community guest judges can explore students’ work and hear about their discoveries.

Student Participation

TK/K will participate through a teacher-guided class project with individual student contributions. Grades 1–8 will complete individual projects, with expectations adjusted for grade level.
Teachers will introduce the showcase on Friday, October 9, 2026, and help students brainstorm and select appropriate topics. They will guide students through project approval, investigation, reflection, and presentation.

How Families Can Help

Encourage your child’s curiosity, help gather affordable materials, and supervise for safety while allowing your child to take ownership of the thinking and learning. Recycled and everyday materials are welcome. Projects do not need to be expensive or elaborate.
Student instructions, proposal forms, and a parent FAQ will be provided by classroom teachers.

Celebrating Student Learning

Judging will consider age-appropriate curiosity, planning, testing, evidence, creativity, perseverance, communication, and student ownership.
Our focus is on the learning process. Unexpected results and designs that need improvement are valuable opportunities to discover, reflect, and try again.
