Our Mother of Good Counsel School is proud to announce its upcoming theater production of Shrek The Musical Jr., a fun-filled adaptation of the beloved DreamWorks animated film. Students will take the stage at the St. Augustine Center on November 14 and 15, transforming it into a whimsical swamp where fairy-tale misfits, a talking donkey, and an unlikely hero remind us that true beauty comes from within.
Directed by Haley Wolff and choreographed by Penny Collins, this year’s musical promises laughter, heart, and a celebration of individuality. The show follows Shrek, a grumpy but lovable ogre, who embarks on a quest to rescue Princess Fiona with the help of his loyal companion, Donkey. Along the way, the cast of colorful fairy-tale characters learns that being different is what makes them special.
Audiences can expect upbeat music, clever humor, and magical moments that capture the spirit of the original movie. Songs like “I’m a Believer” will have everyone singing along as students showcase their acting, singing, and dancing talents.
This production reflects OMGC’s commitment to nurturing creativity, teamwork, and confidence through the performing arts. Families and friends are invited to come and enjoy this “ogre-sized adventure” that’s perfect for all ages.
